Stradale/GTS servicing costs

So, I'm shopping around for a service for my car and i'd like to hear what others with the Stradale or GTS have been quoted.

I'm looking at the 2 year service price. My car has only done 10k miles and so I am electing not to change the carbon canister or lambda sensors in this service.

My plan is to supply the oil and as my car has a BMC filter it doesn't need an air filter. From what I understand, they are therefore doing very little, just a check of various items, replacing gearbox/diff oil and pollen filter and inspecting lots of bits and pieces.

I'm looking at main dealer prices although I may choose a specialist if the price is significantly better.

Please tell me what you have paid and where.

So you've got a choice in Scotland of two Maserati dealers, one indie or sending your car to Manchester or futher south.

I've said before but Maserati dealers quote about £1000 for an annual/mileage and about £1500/1600 for a two year service, the difference being the two auxillary belts, power steering fluid and coolant. If you have not extended the factory warranty then I fully agree with missing the two four year items. PK would inspect the two year items and only replace if necessary which given the low miles could be a cost saving but Graypaul Edinburgh have always being good with me albeit so far that was only in the 5 year extended warranty.

Graypaul quoted me £2600 supplying my own oil, not changing the filter, carbon canister or lambda sensors. I nearly had a heart attack.

I've sent them away to think about it. I was expecting around the £1500 mark which I would pay to keep up the main dealer stamps. But given that it is 6 years old and out of Maserati warranty, i'm wondering where the value is. I will also call Glasgow but i'm not a fan of them and trust PK more.

That's a 4 year service price. Think it's an error.

Mine had a major (4th year schedule service) just before I bought it. This included the following:-

Power steering fluid
Oil change
Air filter
Oil filter
Pollen filter
Aux Belt
Belt
Fuel vapour filter
Screen wash
Copper washer
Antifreeze
Suspension bushes for the front
4 wheel alignment

For a total of £2950.

If you take the bushes and alignment out you are looking at around £1350.

Not a lot of help to you, but this was at Giallo in Kent.

That's about right as it misses the lambas'. FWIW main dealer 2, 4, 6 etc year prices included alignment.

Can I ask which bushes it needed as mine is needing something?

It had nfs, osf suspension bushes. Apparently they're a weak spot on the GT.

Two bush kits came to £522 plus vat (£261 each).

Makes sense. At least they were able to change the bushes rather than needing to do the whole arms.

Usually around £1500 2 year service and £2500 for a 4 year
They will haggle so call and indy and get a price from them first and go back to MD and ask them to drop
JCT600 always do for me.
Indy probably services better but you'll want MD stamp so you pay for it

It does sound a lot really for a service, and there are always things they will try and add on.
The Ferrari main dealer was trying to tell me that Maseratis were much more expensive to maintain than Ferraris - and an Average ferrari service is 900.
Is this / can this be true?

I've been offered £900 from an indie which seems good value. All the fluid changes plus an inspection of all other items. They advise that changing items at such a low mileage is not required as they could easily last 50k more miles (lambda etc) and they only way you know they need changing is when they start to fail. That's with them supplying the correct Shell oil etc etc, rather than me supplying my own. Given the difference, I'm very tempted to go this route. I'm waiting on Graypaul coming back with a proper price but it will need to be quite a drop to make it worthwhile. If they come back below £1500 I may do it to maintain the main dealer stamps, otherwise...

Besides, a good indie is often better than a main dealer with more attention to detail. I've found this out on several occasions in the past.

Sounds like a good deal to me

My local MD quoted £2.6k. I argued. They dropped 10%. It's now booked in with Christian Lewis in Northampton. £800, and the place has a great reputation. I'm more than happy with an indie stamp because I'm expecting a far better service than the last time the MD had it. They didn't even know which model it was...

MD is now at £1650 and the ball is in their court over the weekend. We'll see what they do on Tuesday, i suspect 1500 is where they will dig their heels in.

I'll take the main dealer stamp for the difference in cash, although begrudgingly.
