This is becoming a bit of a timeshare car! Sorry to hear you had to sell her Mike, but pleased Soprano that you finally got it! That is indeed the Skyhook light - gearbox would adjust when in sport mode, but suspension was always in the stiff setting, even out of sport mode from memory. Was only intermittent though - have no idea how to fix!
Hope all goes well in April and you enjoy the car for a long time to come,
Laurence

Cheers Laurence - and yep that is my memory of the journey home, that the suspension is always in sport - but I only had it in non sport for a short time in any case, will check it out this weekend when I next drive it.

Guy I didn't reply earlier but of course, if I come to sell at any point I can let you know - I did say to Mike I would give him first refusal if I sell - but otherwise very happy if you wanted it back. And of course - forum rules apply - I have bought to drive and enjoy, not to make any profit.

I've edited the thread title now - do let me know if/when I need to add another "New" on to it :)

I think that just about covers the last few months at least! I got the V5 through the post this morning and there have been 10 owners in the last 21 or so years - 4 of whom have been within the last 12 months according to this thread!!

Chaps, while waiting for the service and MOT which is booked in for mid April, I thought I would treat the old girl to some new mats. I called Meridien Modena today, but was told they have stopped being a parts dealer - they are still selling off everything they have in stock but are unable to place new orders with Maserati for new parts, and they have no mats in stock. They have suggested HR Owen. Expecting it to be pricey.

Any suggestions for decent mats for a 4200? I am less keen on the original mats which I think have a plastic/rubber section in the middle of both the driver and passenger - would prefer without. I think full carpet mats may have been available on the facelift and should fit - reading around a bit on years old threads on here about the same thing.

As a general update, I had a decent 150m round trip for mothers day two weekends ago. Tried the sport on/off as above and it does seem to soften/harden the suspension. Interestingly the skyhook light was off by the time I got home and hasn't come back on yet, though I haven't driven it much since.

If you direct message @Dman666 they make after market mats for the 4200 and GS as well as others. You can choose various options to customise as well including edge trim and script etc.

Agreed - I got them from dman with a special SI logo I’m surprised they weren’t in the car - perhaps they are still in my garage! I won’t be in Dorset for a couple of months now but will let you know if I do find them. They will of course be practically new!

Fresh from a trip down to see AV.

Service and MOT carried out, and a few other small bits and pieces.

The CEL is now sorted - that required a new air mass sensor.

Covered about 800 miles since purchase - something like 7 weeks ago, so getting a decent amount of use!
