I am thinking of going to the garage that I keep her and starting her up tomorrow first time after more than 2 months.
I had disconnected the battery, so is there anything special I should do or wait for when I connect it again?

I was planning to do the same with the Ferrari this week end... I will be interested to read the answers from other members, as I have never really been overthinking it and it never seemed to be an issue to me.
I would make sure the car gets a little warm before taking her for a ride, and at full temperature before going beyond 4K rpm.

The most inportant thing is Always.. put the key on start modus, waith untill all light are out on your dash, and then start your V8 engine, then have al the electric systems come to start up, learn from a 50 years Maserati driver.

From Voicey:
1) Connect the battery and then go and do something else for 20 mins. This allows the heater mix valve to calibrate.
2) Switch the ignition on (engine off) and wait for the throttle body to calibrate (you can hear it clicking) and for the heater flaps to stop moving (depends on the model). 1-2 mins is enough for this step.
3) Start the engine and let it idle for a while - this starts the fuel trim adaption and variator learning.
4) Whilst the engine is running the bits like windows, radio code, clock, seats, etc can be sorted. I would also check the EPB if fitted.
5) Switch engine off and lock/unlock to make sure all is working well and that the door handles are working (later cars).

Lots of cars stuck on dealer forecourt for longer than that. Jump leads on then off they go. Makes me cringe.

If mine has been stood for a while I disconnect all the injector electrical plugs (very quick and easy) then turn the engine over until I see oil pressure.

Then reconnect the plugs and start it normally.

Car started on first time. I wasn't sure what to expect. The battery is 6 months old but not connected to a conditioner. The cut off switch has no leak.

That’s why we love Italians... every time we turn the key in the ignition, we have that butterfly moment “will it start this time”?
Those cars are alive and force us to treat them with respect like a mistress would...
I feel it every time I go get the F430, while i never really bother thinking about it when starting the M3...

My battery was dead this evening, haven't used it for 11 days. I jump started it off the Subaru, I hope there's no lasting damage

11days doesn’t seem like a lot. I used to be able to keep mine for 2weeks and it would be OK. Anything longer and I would lock the car with the key and not activate the alarm to save on battery. Never had an issue with it, but my battery was fairly new.

This thread prompted me to take the GTS out after three weeks’ hibernation. Last night we had the mother of all rainstorms which has washed the salt off the roads. Today the sun came out and the stars aligned, so I gave myself a few hours off and did the Newcastle Emlyn loop - punctuated by fish chips with the V8 accompanied by Grant Hart’s ironic, yet epic “Good news for modern man”.

More rain coming tomorrow, with the chill wind from Brussels...

Good god that colour combination looks as good on a Quattroporte as it does on the GT, it really is the best.

Grigio exterior.
Bianco interior.
No window tints.

Perfect.

Think you’ve hit on something there. The lack of window tinting combined with the lack of chrome window surround accentuates the lovely lines over the rear haunches. I’d not seen it before you mentioned it. Thanks.
