Spring is in the Air (No its not a song)!!

Hi Guys,

Well I know you have all had a good summer season and the nights are starting to close in as christmas approachs (who mentioned christmas!!) I thought it high time to lighten your spirirts and show you that some members cars are out there stretching their legs and taking in the beautiful spring blossom and summer drives which are all around me now.

These picss where taken on the south coast of melbourne heading down the great ocean road on the way to Lorne. Lorne is a small sea side village which has a nice beach and good restaurants. I took the wife down there having just got back from my UK trip... she and "trofeo" had been missing me..

Being me I just could not wait to drive the car on this road.. you can guess from these ozzie life guards which one is the wife No no not me..the photos just rearranged themselves..

Have to say Al , love that number plate , this time of year in Blighty i really envy you those coasts and weather , car looks the bees knees by the way , hope its been a plain sailing ownership , these cars are pretty rock solid enjoy mate

well in the short time that I have had the pleasure of all your company I have only seen two other folk from Aus post here! One was in Adelaide the other Sydney and we are about 1000km or more away from each other so it will be difficult, but I will always keep my eyes and ears posted for the opportunity. It kind of takes the board global in my book if we can do that.

However the one real problem is these cars here in aus are very rare,,, !!! If you see any maserati model once every 2 months you are seeing a lot!! seeing another gransport might be once in 5 years!!!

All these cars cost a bomb here I know a lot of UK dealers say they are often selling cars to Aus but i think they are just talking the market up a bit. I have seen a few cars land here and get advertised immediately for sale which has only softened the market values. They don't move fast because folk are scared or put of by running costs and fear of reliability.

The australian market is very raw when comes to knowledge about cars living in blighty you don't realise how lucky you are to have a wealth of resource and knowledge at your doorstep. I truly believe the UK leads the world in this sector you only have to look at F1 to realise that.

BUT we do as you say have some fantastic roads to drive on. Traffic jams don't exist compared to the UK.. well a bit in sydney but not for the rest of us. rush hour is about 20-35 minutes and then it dies out. GREAT for drivers like me and very good for the CC gearbox which hates traffic.

The number plate was easy to buy because almost nobody here appreciates the significance with little knowledge of what maserati really is accept expensive.

If any of you find yourselves in this part of the world please,please do feel free to contact me. would be more than happy to have you stay and take you for a blast in what over time will become a very interesting GS model. I am luck to have a offical race team look after my car. I'll let you guess which one it is.. but politically incorrect for me to broadcast it on the web..
