Hi dem

The sport button firms up the suspension, it also on the auto increases the revs before gear change and i think uses a different engine map from the ECU. mine is much faster in sport mode.

The cars were produced with either S button for sport or P button for power. If you have the P button the only change is the revs before gear change, the suspension stays the same

It might be an idea to have your car connected to the SD2/3 and re set the ECU, then take the car out and drive it hard so the ECU can re learn the parameters

Sport button uses sport settings for the active suspension, more aggressive traction control settings to let the rear end twitch without killing you. No difference in power or engine note and the only performance difference you will see if the higher rev gear changes on an auto - no difference on a manual. The active suspension change does make the steering more responsive which is why I use it at all times, except when driving over poorly finished roads when my my need for a level of comfort over rules this advantage!

Andy, quite right, I remember you had to sort of concerntrate when pressing the button to notice it.

Must say, that is one of the best things about the GS, it handles so differently, must be the gearbox over the rear axle amongst other things. I always found the 3200 very twitchy, dont get me wrong, luv mine to bits, but you do notice the vast improvement when you get into the the late cars.

"Intimidating", that is a good description. A bit confused though as the sport button completely transforms the handling of my 3200, not subtle at all - does exactly what it says on the button.

To be honest, I cant remember its been over a year since my 32 was moved on to Speedy40. Seem to think mine was always in sport, but then it would be....if you have a button with SPORT written on in your cockpit, you gona press it right?

With the state of the roads locally to me I find myself coming out of sport mode more and more. There are literally craters after this winter with no sign of the council doing any repairs. The ride in sport mode over this surface makes me feel all my major organs are being shuffled around. Out on the open road and I live in Sport mode :)
