Ok guys.....where do you fix your Sat Nav in a 3200 or early 4200s..... theres no where to put the thing
You can just leave it in the centre console but you can't see it,as anyone tried one of those mat thingies on the dash top?

This should be fun....

I have a suction cup mount that either sticks to the windscreen or more recently I've started to stick it to the console screen as it's mostly useless anyway...

We have used one of those mat type sand bag things and they work, but bumpy roads, which we have plenty of, tend to jiggle the sat nav in to different places and you keep having to adjust it. Also if your cable is on the bottom of the unit, it can get in the way and it does not sit right. I think you can get screen mounts with extensions which bring them closer to you, some truck drivers use them and their screens are miles away..!!

I have two options. If i need serious instructions i use a sucker thing on the windscreen and fix my phone (Nokia Lumina) to that. If i just need a rough map i use the map function on the parrot Asteriod which has a live google maps function in the tiny 3 inch screen!!! i am hoping some one will do a proper navigator for the Asteroid, but not so far. It has a nice camera warning app, which works quite well.

Dave,

I think it is actually a Garmin product. They are pretty decent, drove from Aberdeen to Spa Francorchamps (via Newcastle - Ijumuiden ferry) recently with no problems. It might shift slightly but it doesn't skate about the top of the dash. Someone mentioned the issue of the location of your power socket, I think that can be an issue regardless of dash top or screen mounted, just depends on the vehicle.

Cheers

I was looking at one of those "Genius" mats advertised in the Telegraph over the weekend but they've got not chance of fitting on a 3200 dash..
