Dunrod/Ulster is the same thing.
Silver State Classic is run on a public road in Nevada about 100 miles in length. You have to choose an average speed and get as close to it as possible, the record is over 200mph.
Well, naturally I had to google it, couldn’t resist (the Silver state classic). Basically it’s something anyone can enter if you are willing to spend up to a thousand dollars to drive your car as fast as you can from A to B in Nevada, but you do get a T-shirt included as part of the entry fee. Not exactly a road race as far as I am concerned. As this is the SM motorbike thread I was referring to proper road (racing). Where the winners have included Hailwood, Agostini, Phil Reid, William Dunlop, Joey Dunlop, Robert Dunlop, Bruce Anstey, Connor Cummings and Peter Hickman to name just a few. It’s been in existence 100 years, this year. You need more than a fast car and a thousand dollars in your back pocket to enter. Dundrod and Ulster are not exactly the same thing by the way ! Dundrod is a village in County Antrim Northern Ireland, Ulster is one of the four traditional Irish provinces in Northern Ireland. It just so happens that the Ulster GP is held in Dundrod. I didn’t have to google that because I was born thirty miles from Dundrod. All I was really saying initially was that I had booked a holiday to watch the Ulster GP in August, and hadn’t as yet told the wife, I now have and she is very happy, so she says. It wasn’t meant to be a competion, my road race is faster than yours ! And quite honestly yours is not even a real road race.
