Siren warning - Diagnostics say siren battery is flat but replacement does not fix...

I had an alarm warning on my 2009 QP (and no beep when locking), and Dick Lovett in Swindon diagnosed it as the siren battery being flat - apparently you can't just replace the battery, but have to replace the whole unit. So, now have installed a whole new siren unit, but still getting the 'bad siren' warning message (although locking still works ok - but no beep). Anyone had experience of this and know what the problem might be?

Did you replace the siren, or did they?

I wonder if
a) The warning needs to be reset if you did it
b) They should take it back and fix the actual problem if they did it.

Siren was replaced at a Ferrari/Maserati specialist last week but they still have the error message after a reset and can't find the fault.

Well I hope they are not charging you for the siren then!

Only thing I can think is that the internal battery needs some kind of time to charge up and / or there is a requirement for a number of arm / disarm / start / stop cycles before it resets.

Doesn't seem hugely likely though

I had exactly same problem and replacing the siren didn't fix it. Voicey called Italy and the suggested cleaning all the terminals and this fixed it.

Oh, that's interesting... Do you mean the terminals where the old wiring connects to the new siren, or what?

Migliore in Bromsgrove have made a really good effort to try to fix this, fitting a new siren, then trying a working spare old one, etc, but no luck - and no charge for their efforts, which is really good of them. No fix no fee!

You might be better asking Voicey as he did mine

anybody have pictures of what they did? mine's non-functional too – there's some very crunched unit with a battery in the right wheel well. (I've been resurrecting a totaled GT-C Sport)
