Very true ...

Whilst many hold Elon to blame, I don’t think it’s entirely fair. The writing was already on the wall with the chart structure, and I was worried about people here who held it when I posted that price had reached an inflection point and that stop losses were important.

Hopefully nobody here is very badly burnt.

Because when a thing has no intrinsic value, and is a pure speculation, there’s nothing to anchor a valuation to. So anything can influence what people will pay for it.
A little like FIAT currency then.....becomes toilet paper when credibility runs out.

Doesn't a product like, say Ethereum, that handles 1.1M transactions a day and has $55BN locked in distributed finance, giving significantly better returns than can be obtained from the banks, have intrinsic value? Isn't all investment speculation on future performance?

Lots of people have “diamond hands “ as they call it now because they believe it’s going much higher
Yup but those that bought at 60k probably cashed out.....huge losses.
Until the volatility and whale manipulation ends it’s never gonna be a reliable store of value......that’s its weekness and as we’ve seen recently government action threatens stability and price.

Gold on the move....silver too.
Both metals looking great!

The volatility squeeze has just fired on the weekly spot gold chart:

But is yet to fire on the weekly spot silver chart:

I’m bullish both (and have a position in spot gold with first target at +2ATR)

But what returns do investors in ethereum get? Investors in activities and companies get a cash return (potentially). Investors in ethereum are just waiting for someone else to pay more for it. How can one value that?

That’s the difference between investment and speculation.
