Seized brake pads possibly frozen

Well the seller did advise me to turn off the EPB when putting in the garage. Foolishly i left it on and the big freeze hit. Last driven 4 days ago but temperature around zero since. Tried to move it today and no joy. Am hoping that it may unfreeze when it warms up on Sunday/Monday and may miraculously fix itself....

But perhaps it wont. Any thoughts beyond leave the EPB off next time.. :)

If a car is left, you'll somethimes get 'battery related issues' on initial startup. Let the car run for a while, turn it off, then start it again and they'll usually resolve themselves.

Thanks all. Battery was fine, but brakes seized. A little gentle drive-reverse rocking and with a little (but heart in the mouth) pop they released.
All good, thanks for the tips, gave me confidence to do it

If you start to get some rattling when pulling away or creeping I would check the shoes haven't delaminated. They are only bonded on.

And don't do it again!

Thanks will listen out. Seemed ok earlier but I wasn’t really concentrating. Just enjoying the ride.

It is a pretty easy job to check them. Wheel off, 2 disc bolts and thats it. Shoe set up is old school. Despite my shoes being pretty unworn they were delaminated and about to fall apart. Check autodoc for replacements. Cheap and not great quality but good enough for an mot. Rest of time they are off.
