I've been searching "electrical connector" or similar. Started at RS.

Best guess it's a TE-Connectivty 172501-1, or the socket thereof. I could do with seeing the plug end and getting some decent measurements.

Whether it's possible to buy one, as opposed to 1000, is another matter....

Years of practice searching for odd stuff. 21 way pcb connector got me started.

Check the dimensions as well, and like I say I think that's the wire end, as it were....

Yep, it's not quite correct but I'm off in a better direction now.

Managed to get the connector off eventually and all the pins reset as they should be by a friendly professional.
Here's a before, an after and how it should look when it's all back together again. I also added a couple of matching coloured tie wraps to ensure it doesn't happen again.

But to get the seats out is a doddle and while I was there I took Matts advice to hoover and shampoo the carpets. The seat also got a clean and feed while it was out.
