I have LPG and there's a sensor that sends a signal to shell when it's below 20% full. I'm sure there must be a similar thing for oil Dan. Ran out a couple of times a few years back and waited two days for a delivery. Have dinner in the pub and stay til closing?
Hassle is, if it s a newish boiler they are more difficult to bleed than the older models........so am always tapping the tank to see how far down the hollow noise is!

Dan, we've got a remote sensor on our tank and it works really well. It gives a percentage of oil left in the tank so you can tell when your tank has been raided! It's called Watchman IIRC. A must if your oil tank is away from the house.
