Review of the new Ceika Motorports coilovers for the Maserati 4200

Planning the winter improvements, and coilovers is on the list. Have been following these threads since the beginning. All of the discussion has been about use on the 4200, but I noted the Ceika site (and the link here) both point only to GranTurismo, 2007 and up. Is there follow up communication with Ceika required to ensure the correct materials/price/fitment are provided?
Barring this, will be going with the FD setup, once they post their sales.

Basically, FD simply rebadge the KW V3 and double the KW price !
If that were the case, they'd be $6800 US? Lol... I think we may be experiencing different prices on our respective sides of the Atlantic. Here, FD is just a few hundred above the KW price, but FD has an annual sale around the holidays that will discount their "rebadged" KWs well below the price of KWs on other sites.

In any case, does anyone know the answer to the question posed? The Ceikas in the link at the beginning of this article, and on the Ceika site itself, don't include any reference to Coupe or GranSport, only GranTurismo. I'm not sufficiently well-versed in coilovers to know if these are interchangeable.

If you follow the link the OP posted it actually references 3200 / 4200 / GS.

that's what I get for reading the link text instead of clicking!
This seems like a far better deal across the board. Especially since Ceika has a hydraulic lift feature to add a little height on demand, such as when in parking lots with large speed bumps/humps.
What's the downside? I'm not seeing one - will be ordering some next week once I see if the sale gets a little deeper for "black friday"

I've just ordered KW's. I think its worth the extra money to get a proper Motorsport proven quality shocks.

Stuff like Ceika and BC are fine for Cheaper Japanese stuff and Hot hatches, but I wouldn't buy Maserati that had them fitted.

I assume that money is no impediment for you. Must be nice. I’m a top billing lawyer at a big firm in my city and even still, 5k+ for shocks is too much for me, especially after just having to change the water/oil pump. I’ll be sure to blame “my cheap coilovers” when I post my unusually slow times at the track.

Mine are being built (comfort specification yet still somewhat firmer than stock I was told by the people at Ceika), but I might be moving them on without fitting as I bought a car (and had ordered these before that - not the most logical way of taking things).
The suspension on my car has Skyhook and might be in good nick, so my decision will depend on the final verdict on that.

To be clear, Ceika coilovers are around 1k. KW Coilovers are around 2k.

Bearing in mind that with a Maserati almost all trips to any garage cost at least 1K, paying this much extra for a tried and proven set of coilovers seems a no brainer tbh. Not sure where you get the 5K price from?

Anyway, each to their own :)

BTW I saved for a number of months to afford the KW's - lets try not to be too touchy.

In CAD the price difference is $1200 v $3000 even at the discounted price link you have posted. Makes me wish I lived somewhere else. 3k really isn't that bad. it's at least somewhat palatable

Small update for those who are considering getting a set of Ceika coilovers: I sold my set to someone in France and he just let me know that he is very happy with them.
In his words, compared to the Skyhook suspension that was initially on his car, they are more comfortable and filter out better than Skyhook in sports mode yet are better in corners, with less 'dive' in acceleration and braking.

I have a 2005 GT with Skyhook suspension, but I feel no difference at all between regular mode and 'Sport' other than the Sport light on the dash. I suspect something is wrong with my Skyhook.

If I get the Ceika, with the two modes work, or does my Skyhook need to function properly in order to get two modes with the Ceika?
And in that case, any tips on where to start digging to figure out my Skyhook issue? :)

Thanks!

Skyhook is adaptive, the Ceika is passive.
So your skyhook suspension and control is totally removed/disabled and the new Ceika is a fixed rate replacement with no electronics what so ever, like a traditional old car suspension system.

Try disconnecting the Skyhook ECU ( inside boot, left side behind trim panel above cd changer if you have one) the car defaults to full hard setting. Drive it. Feel it. Determine that Skyhook was working ( or not, as the case may be)
Simples...
