Hi Rob,

I too had to replace a battery reading 10V two weeks back. I followed Miles' advice and fitted a Bosch S5 (Bosch Model # S5008-096), but as I couldn't take delivery of an online order I got it from Halfords (their ref # HSB096)
As the guys said it fitted perfectly as it was of very similar dimensions and is rated at 77Ah with a 5 Year warranty)

Hope it helps.

Bal , stick this info on the alternative parts thread with price too......always comes up what battery to fit when originals are shot etc!

Hi Bal, thanks for that, although halfords isn't my favorite place at the moment. went to the branch in sutton coldfield this morning to see about buying a power booster. after waiting for the plooky yoof to get off his mob fone I asked him which of the power packs would be suitable for a 4.2 engine. might just as well have asked him to explain einstiens theory in greek. suggested I look on their web site as he though it might tell me there. good idea I replied, why dont you do it for me. not a chance.

I will trawl around the tyre/ battery places tomorrow.

thanks

Rob

Hi Frank,

Those were the same on ine places I was looking at. I think it came out to £85 delivered free from them (They may be the same guy operating under two names and he appears on ebay as well)

Halfords were £122.99. Rob, if you can wait then I'd suggest the online links Frank has put up. Or you could try charging it and see if it holds 12 volts, I knew mine was on it's way oiut last year but it managed to survive until now.
