Replacing Rear Position Light (LED) on a GTS

One of my RHS rear position lights is out, and after a quick look in the boot, and having read the manual it seems as though this is a job they recommend getting done by Maserati... is this right?

Has anyone on here done this themselves?

Check the wires first as for all the LEDs to fail would be rare.

Thanks Peter, have looked at the wires and can't see anything obvious wrong with them. I'm wondering if it's a carry-over from when I had a battery issue... but as far as I can work out there's not a specific fuse for them...

Have you tried a battery reset?

Turn off the battery for five mins, then back on. Not sure if the GT has a isolation switch to do this loke the 4200/GS has the same rotating on off switch to do this.

No - haven't tried this but will after lunch... thanks. Presumably I can just disconnect the battery connections if no switch...

Just check the hand book re long term storage as it may inform how to disconnect the battery and which terminal to take off first.

Thanks - it does, and clear that negative first, then positive...

Always and in all circumstances. Although you don't need to disconnect the positive.

Most likely that one of the cables has broken in the passage from the car body to the boot lid where they are flexed.

That's what happened to my number plate lights , the rest were only hanging on by a strand or two, simple fix though

I agree, they are brittle and can fail - they're located on the near side and is very much the most likely source of your problem I would suggest. I had it with my number plate lights on my GTS

Similar issue on mine - the off-side fog light isn't working, though the connectors and bulb are fine. I suspect a dodgy wire somewhere bendy. A simple job for another day.

I deeply dislike electrics - probably because I feel way less confident with them... at some point over the christmas break I will have to try and track down my offending wire.
