So the Mrs was due a new company car, but as she is now on Maternity leave the standard company issue car wasn't too appealing.
Did some digging around and as we just need a town "baby chariot" the whole electric car thing seemed quite appealing.. Renault are doing a stonking deal on them at the moment.. they are essentially matching the £5k government subsidy, so you get £10k off the list price straight up.. which left us £8k to finance.. and Renault also pay for a universal fast charger to be installed at your home.
So yesterday the new car arrived!
Have to say I'm really impressed with it so far. Up to 40mph it really goes well, tails off after that.. but is happy pulling up to 80mph. It's comfortable, silent, and comes packed with every gadget going (Bluetooth, cruise, auto lights, wipers, rear parking sensors + camera). I particularly like the fact you can get it to pre heat in the morning when it's plugged into the mains!
So the driveway looks like a right bizarre mix at the moment... 1 x Maserati 3200 and 1 x Renault Zoe.. I think a more oppositely opposed set of cars you couldn't find! Both left field and quirky, but charming none the less!
