Help! Has anyone replaced the rear wheel bearings in a 3200gt or does anyone know where to get a hub unit for the right money?
This is a good place to start …. and then promptly stop:I'm looking into opening it up and replacing the actual bearings Has anyone done this?
At what cost? The play was in the Bearing! The Bearing has now been Reconditioned by Borg Transmissions who replaced the balls and done some machining to the faces. Good as new for the fraction of the cost of a new one!!! New Discs and Pads, Starter Motor Reconditioned, be back on the road soon for the tail end of summer.
Yes, probably in a shipyard! This is very interesting. I wonder how they dismantled it!

Certainly flies in the face of recent discussion...!

I think it's the same part, also used on several Ferraris apparently! We think It is a generic part that Maserati source in, they remove any casting numbers etc for obvious reasons for all we know these could be fitted to a fork lift or the like!! Borg Transmissions would have sourced the manufacturers eventually but in this instance it was quicker to recon the original unitTalking about two completely different parts, the bearing dismantled and repaired is from a 3200 not a 4200 / GS
