The time has come to replace a rear wheel bearing on the quattroporte. Got. a very good price from H.R Owen in London for the bearing. Also got a new hub nut.

I'm trying to assemble the tools for the job, so I can do it quickly.

Any one know what size impact socket I need to remove the hub nut?

I would have thought that the QP is similar to the 4200. The bearing of that is attached by 4 socket head bolts. See picture, courtesy of MAF's brake disc removal thread

The bolt is 41mm, nice round number!
Thanks Zep. I bought a Sealy 41mm impact socket on ebay, and used my De Walt 20v cordless impact wrench (900nm torque) and it whipped the nut of in an instant. I'd read on the "other" forum that some special "low profile" socket was needed, but I found a regular Sealy impact socket fitted and worked perfectly.

No problem! Maybe someone had a particularly fat socket that didn’t fit.
