Welcome to the forum. I've just moved up to a GT Sport MC Auto Shift late 2012 and I would highly recommend that you read up these pages but you've seem to have narrowed down your choices pretty quickly. Which is good, the more you read about the face-lift change in 2012 to the choice of gearboxes the more you'll understand. Don't be afraid of asking questions, we've all started from no knowledge. Pop along to a meet even if you haven't got a car yet, it's easier to look and ask current owners the subtle differences between the models.

Thanks MLC.

I really appreciate that. I feel I know a little bit about Granturismo's, but nowhere near a comprehensive level of understanding. So far, I'm a little overwhelmed by how helpful people have been on this thread, really seems to be a fantastic community here :)

I've never gone to a car meet, but I think going to one in the future would be something of interest!

I agree regarding the newer front - it's the top end of my budget to get a model like this (budget is £40K), but I do find it way more appealing...

The example you sent is beautiful, I must say!

Yeah, for sure. How much would you say you spend annually servicing your Granturismo? If you don't mind me asking by the way!
They will be negotiable on price. It’s a tough market. I would totally agree with Johnny re aesthetics. Speak to richard grace on here who will give good advice and be able to source you a good model. Balance the cost with peace of mind...

What exquisite taste! Well done, and good work getting started on this forum as well. It's a font of all knowledge, and quite a lot of buffoonery as well.

Don't rule out non-auto Grtanturismos. None of them have a gear lever and all have an auto mode, it's just the degree of automation that varies.

Depending on where in the country you are, a more southerly dealer of renown is Nuvola London. Like Dickie, extremely discerning and a joy to deal with.

Welcome, sbz8!
Where do you live? Someone is bound to be nearby and want an excuse to make some noise for you to experience!
Is great to hear you'll realise the dream by 30 and I'm sure you've earnt it.
Go and play with a few, meet a load of us and see the various options. Then buy a car, join us lot regularly, say goodbye to your liver function and acquire a bunch of real friends.
I can't help on the Granturismo front but I can say that noise is good.

Welcome!
Not much I can add, that hasn't been well said already.
Your best friend isn't your dog. It's the search function here ;) Everything you're curious about has been discussed again and again, over time.
Probably the best suggestion I've read on your thread is to get down to a dealer and drive the different options. There's no substitute for this. Don't buy on impulse. Think about resale. A dealer may offer you a great deal on a gold coloured car, with a one off interior. But only because nobody wants it. A regular feature here are the oddball cars that come up for sale and endlessly amusing they are too.
With a few exceptions, it's a buyers market. Haggle like a Colombian drug dealer. If that's not your thang, take someone with you who has no shame ;) What you might save, could pay your first year costs of ownership.
Your commute may be exceptionally short, but I guarantee that you'll be wanting to add a few miles to it, just to spend more time with your car, listening to the glorious sounds made by the engine.
I've tended to be lucky with cars. Apart from a few early disasters in my teenage years, which were my fault and not the car's. My 2008 auto has been the most reliable car I've owned and it just loves to rev. Boy, does it Love to rev.
Just about everything you need to make your ownership of one of these beauties a pleasant one, is right here.
Care for it like your first born and drive it like you stole it! Otherwise, what's the point :)

I know you said you were looking for a Granturismo but I have a cracking 2009 QP 4.7 S with GTS grill and wheels for sale, for an awful lot less than your budget but still a stunning car...check it out on the forum and also on Autotrader. It's already had its variators done plus a whole lot more.

Check it out on Autotrader. It's the Nov 2009 black QP 4.7 S with beige upholstery , GTS grill and Alloys which are just 3 years old. I have just had a 12000 mile service and MOT done. 49,955 miles and full service history. It's in stunning condition. I have it on the market for £21,950 subject to reasonable offers.

Manual, but 'robotised'... It changes gears by itself, in auto mode, or with paddles.

Might not be the right car for your use, but it does provide a very mechanical feeling quick shift when you're pressing on.

Never been quite comfortable with the mileage thing. Cars are for driving, and regular use is good, but accept the market favours low miles.
I've been fortunate to have many very special cars, but have given up on the low miles thing years ago. You're only here once, if you like driving, drive good kit, and look after it. I only have fun cars, so all my miles are enjoyable.
Ideally, if you run a few cars, you don't end up with a particularly high mileage car anyway. One way or another, if you're on a forum like this, we're all on some sort of a car journey. My top tip is to enjoy the driving first and foremost.

For a car which is nearly 10 years old and is still under 50k miles is frankly pretty incredible in its own right, but for a car like this, in this condition and with all of the usual problems having been fixed, then it would be a real steal for anyone. I also don't subscribe to this low mileage mantra "means better"; as many of us know often through personal experience, this rarely holds true.
