Well I went to the beach today. It was packed with thousands of people on their holidays. Judging by the variety of languages I heard, most of them will have come on aeroplanes too. They must not have got Wattie’s latest missive.

And I must say, my trip to the UK and back the other week was absolutely fine. Life can be pretty normal if you stop making a drama out of everything and just get on with it...

You are indeed right in what you say.
If only the firms purporting to provide tests and results could keep up.
Day 10 tomorrow and still no results from x3 tests......

A genuine query hopefully someone can answer, if I fly Easy jet to Gibraltar from Stanstead what COVID test does the airline need/accept ?
If I cross to mainland Spain do I need to isolate in Gibraltar for the return flight?
FYI Gibraltar is on the Green list of countries.

Well that is good to hear.

Can you tell Tw4t Handcockup please.

We all need to get on with it as “project zero cases” is doing no one any good whatsoever.

Enjoy the summer everyone but please remember if you are sunbathing and a beachball comes your way......do not touch it ;)

Farce.
Im amazed the results matter. Down here you have to isolate regardless of the result!
(I don’t understand why people even bother getting tested)
Anyway I’m gonna start another rant as I’m bored with this one.

Unfortunately it’s the law!!!! Hand over money so you can get no results in the time you have to isolate anyway. Brilliant.

Weird, both here and in the UK, our tests going and coming back were simples and on time. The two day test on arrival arrived by post the day before we arrived - we did it on arrival out it in the post and we had the result by email 24 hours later. We used a small approved local clinic in Sale, and they couldn’t have been more helpful and on the ball.

I don’t need to complain to Hancock or anybody equivalent here in Portugal. There are rules and I am happy to work within them rather than moan about them. I prefer to expend my energies more positively on things I can do something about

That can be said about a lot of things in life.

I have British Gas - just spent an hour on chat to get what should have been a very simple piece of information and I get some illiterate f#cktard trying to upsell rather than help me. And I had to ask 5 times to get the telephone number of the complaints team!

EDF Energy decide to put a a commercial tenants bill in my name for 36k as i'm the landlord, just found out tenant hasn't been paying the bills for a fair while due to a dispute between tenant and EDF, spent several hours today trying to untangle it, EDF really are a bunch of fecking muppets, passed from pillar to post

Try calling AVRO Energy - due to covid we're on reduced office hours so call between 9am and 4pm but due to covid were not answering the phone anyway, email us...5 emails and no response.
Cancelled the direct debit, see if that focuses their attention. All I'm after is regular monthly statements as per the contract and to point out that they've also missed a payment of mine.

British Gas are the worst of the worst when it comes to customer service.

I do commercial energy procurement and EDF have history for doing that. Rather than putting in the effort required to sort the issues they go for the easy (and normally wrong) option.
There's a reason I rarely put business the way of British Gas and EDF.
Although I do have the MD of BG SME mobile number. And have used it to good effect on several occasions.
There's an audible groan when she answers my calls now as she knows it will be because of an issue.

it's simply gobsmacking how incompetent EDF are and to just send a letter to me as landlord saying that i've just moved in to the tenanted property and with a 36k bill, tenants been there continually paying EDF bills since 2006 and only in May 2021 EDF were on site and could see for themselves they were still trading , quite laughable if it were not so serious and surely not legal, anyway threatened them with legal action for my wasted time and compensation. Might get all on site tenants to change to Octopus, heard good things about them or can you recommend anyone else

If they are commercial tenants and with bills of that size they are probably on Half Hourly meters. I can take a look for them.
We tender to about 30 companies, and to be honest, the likes of BG & EDF just don't compete unless it is huge consumption of domestic.
Octupus are good for domestic, but not so great on the commercial side.

Happy to look, if you can get them to email me at Mark.Buckland@GCILimited.co.uk I'll be happy to look and give them a SM Discounted rate like I do for others on here I do the procurement for.

cheers for the info Mark and will give the tenants your details, 2 things have just happened this morning, the threat of my legal action against EDF has prompted the closure of my false account and my reading of the riot act to the tenants has prompted them to fully settle their 36k debt with EDF, EDF offered me £50 for the "inconvenience" i politely told them to stick it where the sun don't shine, must have wasted a whole day in total in resolving it finally
