Range Rover advice

Having shared how good my RR experience has been across a couple of TDV8s (100k miles over 5 years with little more than maintenance, tyres, brakes, the odd hose and bush) our 2009 3.6 TDV8 has blown its turbos. I trailered it to Best Turbos in Oldbury who have a great reputation for this but asked them to do a compression test before committing to 2800 on a pair of recon turbos (2000 of it labour!) and they reported only 15 bar (should be 30 apparently). I don't have the time, inclination, tools, skills etc to do this myself so it is a spares or repair sale. Annoyingly I had just fitted new front discs/pads/tyres and it has already had a gearbox rebuild (>3000) and alternator (>1000) not long before I bought it from a good friend 2 years ago. It has a full and detailed history and everything works (apart from the minor issue of the engine!) so may be a good DIY project to put it back on the road if someone wants to spend the time on it. Alternatively there are lots of valuable parts (very nice ivory semi aniline leather interior with heated and cooled seats) on it so it could be broken. PM me if interested and I will share all the details.

Following the above, It’s now official.
:goodnews:
I own the only fully functional, perfectly engineered Range Rover on the planet.
Just had its 5th and final service under the previous owners service plan and nothing has broken.

HELP. I'm looking at Range Rovers again!

Buy one that's already broken but very cheap, at least you know where your starting point is

You could spend 10x as much and still buy one teetering on broken

Sold for about £1300 and someone with time, skill and access to a ramp will probably have a v nice RR Autobiog for £3k. I have switched to a Cayenne S 4.2 TDV8 - not as large or 'wafty' but quite an incredible piece of kit (35mpg, 0-60 in 5.7s and just about high enough to be relaxing on very long runs).
