@Burf22 has what looks like a Sport GT but I'm a bit confused

- Has Sport GT on the B pillar and the remains of red stripes in the C pillar emblems
- Can't recall any red in the grill emblem
- Has sport GT wheels
- Has Sport GT grill (Black mesh)

But it's a 4.2 Auto and does not have Sport GT labelling above the glove box, only Quattroporte

Do such animals exist? I thought that all the Sport GT's were DS?

Happy to be educated!

Eb
My understanding is that none of the 4.2 had anything other than Quattroporte on the dash.

Thanks - more confused than ever. Burf definitely had Sport GT on the B Pillar, not Sport GT S
Also did not realise that Sport GT S originally came in 4.2 flavour.

Yep, the best of the 4.2. There is one on Autotrader at the moment at 22K. Ewan had a rather lovely bright blue one.

Looks like Matt has had this one in as well. Some rust in the arch though.

Have a look here, explanation of QPV pre facelift models

The Sport GT was a sporty package you could buy on the pre-facelift just like the Executive GT was a more luxury package. From 2007 with the introduction of the Automatica you could get either package (or no package) with DuoSelect or Automatica. The package name was then put on the upright panel between the front and rear doors like the auction car.

Next was the first series Sport GT S with a 4.2L Automatica, introduced in late 2007/early2008 for a small run and that then evolved into the (proper) facelift 4.7L ZF Sport GT S as most of us know it. I must admit it’s confusing, until recently I didn’t know there was even a pre-facelift Sport GT S.

Building on Eb's description... mine also has the alu pedals; cross-drilled brakes and red flashes on the grill emblem - although the red is wearing off (anyone got a fix for that?) It was first registered in December 2007, so it sounds like it may have been one of the last ZF Sport GTs - as surely they didn't sell (m)any when the 4.2 Sport GT S arrived around that time.

Does yours have the non-Skyhook suspension?

There was a reason why they took Skyhook of the 4.2 Sport GT S. it didn’t suit its persona and the standard set up they put on this car was so much better and gave it a much more Sporty feel. Could you have put Skyhook back in. 4.2 Sport GT S then as it isn’t on the option list ? I have driven one and it is a much better car without compared to the standard Sport.
