You know your stuff! I am more of a lazy bugger and called Autofficina to book me in next weekend to change the bulbs along with some other minor work. When they send me over the quotation I will see what bulbs they are offering and suggest Osram Nightbreaker Lasers or Philips Xtreme Vision. Are these 'yellow light' or 'white light' output? I don't want to change the look to be too modern for this car as it is a beauty as it is.

They burn at around 4500k which is roughly what OEM xenons are (4300k).

You may find your current bulbs actually appear whiter as, over time, they become a little bit 'cooler' anyway.

Take this with a grain of salt as light is hard to capture properly on images but it's indicative of the improvement you might see:

If you can, try and get the latest Next Gen versions of the Night Breakers as they're the newest and strongest performing. Pricey though, but probably half of the price of 1 standard bulb from the dealer! https://www.osram.com/ecat/XENARC N...Car lighting-Automotive/com/en/GPS01_3797294/

So - a question. I've had a look and there are like a gazillion (my wife has told me a thousand times I over exaggerate) variants of xenon bulb. Which do I need for my 2011 GTS - D1S? I drove Villanelle a few times in the dark recently and I REALLY need to upgrade the current bulbs - I live in the country and it's as scary as sh... My Volvo has an LED matrix array and I've become rather accustomed to them. I know I won't get to that level but I need something better quickly.

Thanks!
