Thanks mate, enjoy these kind of projects especially with no time pressure.
By the time it’s done It’ll probably end up a keeper…
As soon as my house renovations are finished I'm going to spending plenty of time on my projects.
I want my Opel Manta GSI finished the Renault 16 TX and the Citroen XM V6 for starters.

Some nice projects there, my oldman had an XM in 1994, not the v6 just the 2.0Si, still a cool car and brilliant ride etc
Remember the film Ronin with the v6 XM going for it

A little bird told me you might want to use a squizz of thread sealant on those engine front cover screws, if it's not too late...?

It’s a bit too late, but thanks!
I put a squizz of sealant on the cover gasket so some should have got on the threads by accident!

Few updates on the 4200:

EBC blue pads fitted on the front, supposed to be better for track use, we will see.

IMG_2982.jpeg

F1 fluid leaks, found the return pipe rubbers leaking and non-standard clips fitted in I assume previous effort to fix

IMG_2848.jpeg

New hoses and correct clips - no more leaks, also re- wrapped cables in the cloth tape (not shown in pic)

IMG_2953.jpeg

To aid the access had rear bumper off and reverted the exhaust back to stock, previously was straight through rears.

Old exhaust as fitted below

I must be getting old as prefer the original sound, engine noise rather than exhaust note

Old pipes on eBay if anyone interested!

IMG_3111.jpeg

AC leak, after getting the system checked after condenser repair and dryer replacement a small leak was found at the expansion valve, so 4 x o-rings replaced. It would have been very easy to do while the dash was out for the matrix job. Anyway doable with cut down allen keys and the normal struggle.
Thinking back it was obviously leaking as covered in oil from the system.

Hopefully that’s it solved.

Not much left to do now apart from swap the front subframe out!
