Update on the project

Display / NIT
thanks to Lorenz on maseratilife I have the display working correctly after replacing the rear frame. Also found a fair few bodges along the way or wires not connected.

Oil leak
Found engine overfilled by nearly 1 litre so drained it and will run for a while and hopefully no more issues

Sticky interior
Removed the mess with nail varnish remover and bought the cheap sticker sheet from the US. Far from a perfect job but presentable, low cost and lifts the whole interior - if it was a keeper I’d get them done properly

^ As you probably know, Lorenz can help with the buttons too. He did mine :thumb3:
Thanks for that, might consider it in the future, but for now just wanted it useable not a complete mess.
Out of interest what was the cost?

Few hours on it today, brake fluid flush which was actually straight forward, no seized nips and wasn’t too discoloured.
Brake pads removed and freed up so able to slide again.
Also replaced the missing heat shielding on two of the ball joints, assume lost when previous suspension work was completed

After a decent run the oil leak is still present, hard to see exactly but after cleaning it all up and running again it looks to be the front cover or maybe the chain tensioner seal which I’ll replace the seal on first (wishful thinking)
Has anyone tackled the front cover removal / replacement?
Take it remove the nose and radiators to get decent access.
Thanks for any advice
Few pics below, access is a pain even for a few photos.

those photo are from the off side looking inwards under the power steering hoses / secondary air pipe.
The chain tensioner is that large ‘bolt’ head

Removed and cleaned up under the inlet manifold, fair bit of oily mess and leaf litter in there.

Also removed the cam chain tensioner on the o/s, replaced the seal so hopefully that’s one leak sorted…

Replacement inlet manifold on - trofeo colour for the extra 5bhp

valve covers to replace as have a decent set with presentable paintwork…

Have the E message briefly at ignition on to indicate an AC fault, did the reset and fault code readout.
Anyone had experience of sorting these two?
AA114 - not in the list I found on here -???
A5 - TA fan rotation fault - assume AC fan motor issue but it seems to work fine?
Appreciate any help to save me some time

I have that code for a number of years - No faults found with the system, and I have also changed both temp sensors, but no change.

System works perfect though.

Thanks Peter for the feedback you have both codes A5 and 114?
I’ll have the dash out at somepoint to do the heater core so can replace the fan if any doubt.
Cheers

Let me know what you find as it bugs me as it's the only (car) issue I have
