Pre warranty expiry checks

Not sure how common these issues are. I had my Stradale fully checked by an Autofficina given the Maserati warranty expires end of this month.

Took the car to Maranello in Egham and they repaired the following under warranty -
  1. oil leak from O/S Cam cover - very minor leak. I think this must be common, my old 09 GTS had it as well, repaired when I serviced it.
  2. N/S/F wheel rotating with a lot of resistance. Dealer found one of the pistons seized on caliper. The whole caliper was replaced. Is this common? I could not feel any issue when braking, I am glad I did the inspection otherwise I would not have known.
  3. The 2 Maserati emblems on the c pillar lost the 2 red strips - dealer replaced the emblems.

Interesting about the brakes, I will be keeping and eye on this.

My GS had a rocker leak, it’s fairly common on F136 engines. I think the gaskets shrink a bit when they aren’t used.

It's really common for CCM brake caliper pistons to seize. They are made from nickel plated aluminium - the plating can wear off which then allows the aluminium to corrode and swell. I rebuild the calipers with stainless steel pistons and new seals. More often than not the pads will need changing as the binding can wear them down to the studs.
