Potential purchase

A lot of money for a private purchase with jo warranty. Very little mention of service history. The wrap would put me off - no idea of condition under it if it is removed.

Personally I'd buy from a reputable specialist with a full PPI report being available.

* The outstanding finance would worry me and make it no-go.

Other opposing views and recommendations will be along shortky telling you its a bargain and no need for a warranty and no problem with the wrap.

That is a cheap facelift though surely?......Well depending on history...and condition.....I would want a warranty though...and take the wrap off... :)

Says full Maserati history (which in fairness could be as little as 3 services).

But for the money (if services etc fully documented and the wrap isn't hiding damage) it's about right I think? if you want a car with a f#ck awful red interior ;)

With buying absolutely any car, if you've done your homework, like the car, feel the Seller is honest, have looked at the service history and are happy....then spend your money on a Pre-Purchase Inspection, at a reputable garage not linked to the seller, and get some piece of mind on the state of the car.

But then you are paying off someone elses debt if they don't hand over title..
It's a bit of a Mexican standoff situation!

I have bought a number of cars that had finance on them, as Fifty has said it’s really simple to pay the finance company direct - it also puts people off so you can often get a bargain.

Yes I’m not worried about finance etc.

Just wanted to see if anyone had history about the car?
It’s getting an independent inspection on the weekend from MintCo.
It seems good value for a facelift and the mileage

Make sure you find out what the clutch wear is. Check out the subframes. Check the Lower wishbone bearings. Check the paperwork against every stamp, no paperwork call the dealership. They'll have records.

I'm no fan of wraps myself. If it's a colour you like and it has been done well then keep it, but otherwise it's another haggling point. Find out what is owed on the car, it might give you an indication of how much he needs to sell the car for. He's clearly in a weak position if he has to pay off the finance on it. Repayemnts are probably killing him.

Prices are just allover the place.......Face lift cars the same price as non face life and sometimes cheaper....Some asking lots for non facelift......Weird market currently...

The OP has too many warnings for me but it is cheap, I would spend a bit more with Dicky and get an unmolested car with a full history and warranty

£33.5K for a 2012 4.7 MC with 20k miles a lot of money? Am I missing something?

Thanks to @christianm for the link. There’s a £6350 difference, and I can’t comment a great deal about the OP car. All I know about it is what we can all see, it definitely isn’t a special edition, it’s got a very marmite interior, is wrapped, and is a 2012, 4 owner car. That would be enough to stop me from buying it, but may not put off someone who likes the interior and is prepared to take a risk on paint damage. Mine is a 2014/14 in a desirable colour combination, 2 owners, clutch wear is 9% and has been detailed and passed inspection with zero faults (unheard of!!). I have had it for ten days, it belonged to @Guy and has been cherished and had had 2 interested parties already (in Christmas week) which shows it is competitively priced.
@Goodfella the ‘missing something’ is the key, as we don’t have full facts. @V8Hunter, who are ‘Mintco’ and can they get a clutch reading? A clutch is about £3000 on one of these cars, although at 20k miles it should be less than 50% worn.
I’ve not posted here to push my sale, but a few questions were raised which I thought it best to answer.
