I was fine on two skis, not so sure I could mono ski again though, mind willing, body not...
In South Africa I asked as I jumped in was anything in the water I should be afraid of. The South African reply was you are in now, as they took up the slack. There was not way I was going to fail with that comment!
Southern Africans are very pragmatic when it comes to things like that. Had a similar experience in Zimbabwe.

A good friend is from Zimbabwe, had a great experience in the country visiting her in the late 90's before things went tits up.
She emigrated to Australia in the early 00's and we visited her in Cottesloe, Perth. She would enjoy a night time swim off Cottesloe beach, madness!!

My first one was a 14 footer with a Mercury 80HP the second a 16ft with a 140HP Suzuki and the last a 225HP sounded Great full chat.
Learnt to Ski behind a Zodiac GT with a 15HP Yamaha Good times indeed.
I loved water skiing and spent many a great weekend on Windermere before the speed limit came into force. Had a 14ft Fletcher with a Mercury 75hp. Also had a ski sledge and that was a laugh. Something I’m thinking of getting back in to.

Fantastic part of the world, drinking the sunset at the Ocean Beach Hotel. I used to swim there too. There were a few shark attacks at the time but the Surf Lifesavers were on the ball. The idea was not to swim away from the beach further than anyone else.

Yup. I awarded myself a gold star for punctuation and arguing.

(actually I just wanted to make my avatar extra visible when looking through a thread for past posts, so I was playing with a yellow highlight around the new QP, and got a bit carried away.)

decided to take the spyder out for a quick spin this afternoon as it's been sat in garage since last mot 10 months ago, is it just me but i always find myself regularly staring at the dials in the older motors when driving them about, paranoid that either oil pressure will drop or temp gauge starts rising etc

A happy customer collects his new 3500GT from the factory while the racing team transporter lurks in the background....

I've been at work all day daydreaming about driving my 'new' Maser when it arrives, I still can't believe I've actually bought one!

If you wanted to ignore the dials, you should have bought a Porsche. I have to admit, I haven’t started my GS since January, but started her today. Ran her through 2 heat cycles, and watched the gauges and checked for leaks all the time. I really want to drive more, but weather and personal circumstances are restricting me right now. Deserves better. Still, MOT later this week....

that's the proper procedure, i just crank them up and drive them and hope for the best, one day i'll get caught out with the lack of prior checks
