Well all three stations on the Bristol Ring road are dry and were at 18:00.

As you say its madness as they all have deliveries on route...note that France/Germany and the US have released millions of gallons of fuel to bring the price down, but in the UK we are buying like mad at the higher price...now that's an extra few million in VAT etc

Just dropped my car of with Marios at Autoshield, and things don't look good around Manchester. Each station I passed was dry.
I passed one shell station which was closed as a tanker was refilling.
I won't like to be that tanker driver as a number of motorists we giving him a right verbal volley.

Call me synical, but isnt it odd how this has happened just efore the end of a financial year?

I don't get the panic - they've not even announced a strike yet!!!

I think the whole situation is crazy, no strike at all yet and they have to give 7 days notice if they do, so why the silly panic?? There seems to be a distinct lack of commonsense in the UK these days, but as it has been said, more duty and VAT for the revenue.
James, Marios mentioned you might be bringing your car in, get her ready for MC my man. I hope people don't start buying all the V-Power, because the cheap stuff is all gone, it would not do for people to experience the extra power, it might catch on??

total agree Robert

just tried to fill up again today and most garages are empty, looks like one of the shell garage had a delivery but had a long queue - I'll be using the misses car until this runs out...

not sure how true but also been told prices have gone up almost 5-8p per litre - wonder why ?

149.9 for super unleaded today in Loughborough.

My lad has just come in and three nearest stations to us all closed. He's running on vapours.

With a bit of luck it will all cool off over the weekend. We now have to worry about the ACAS talks and the stupid unions being their normal self. Will have to make sure we are topped up for the MC trip, otherwise we will have to go via a refinery and blag some.

I thought the same...my local station is always a bit dearer than most (only one in town) and I drove past today, £1.47 for Diesel (Super is normaly around the same a diesel) - I'm sure its never been that, even at this little rip-of merchant.

Very shady principles putting prices up just for the sake of it. I had to attend a military exhibition in London a few months ago and all the hotels had doubled their prices, some were at £500 a night, can you believe it. Rip Off Britain is correct!! I managed to fill all our cars bit by bit, so we have some reserve.

Yes service, MOT (no problems these cars are surprising tough mechanically), pads all round and disc skim.
Marios warned me that Route Napoleon can cook your brakes if they are not in top notch condition.
In fairness front pads showed cracks and rears 3/4 worn so i thought i might as well get them changed.

James,
Which pads did he put on, were they the FD 2000, he wanted me to have those, but I kept the Pagid's on as they were still in good nick. I would be interested on your thoughts on the pads you have now.
Cheers

Well luckily I did not go too mad at Llandow and managed to limp home in the GTS as both petrol stations I tried in Wales were completely out!

So down the M4, sport off, cruise on and set to 77mph, trip computer was showing, 25.4mpg!!!!!

I usually get 13mpg!!!

Crikey.

Steady on Matt you'll be giving us a good name with the green brigade with behaviour like that!
Mind you it shows what can be done if you really need to do it.

Hopefully your driving is back to 13mpg or less now!
