Parking help unavailable message

Got an intermittent issue with my parking sensors on my 2009 4.7 GTS. After a few days of heavy rain, when I put car in reverse I get the yellow warning message, 'parking help unavailable'. No parking sensors work. Turn engine off and restart, front sensors seem fine. Into reverse, same message. Today, a day of dry weather, sun on the car, sensors seem to be working fine again. I suspect a rear sensor is on its last legs. Two quick queries:

  1. Is it possible to tell which one, without a diagnostic check?
  2. How easy is it to purchase and replace the rear sensors?

Cheers, Nigel

Quite common. I used to get it either when it rained or in winter when the sensors got dirty.

Keeping them clean worked for me but they are temperamental.

Daft question, but clean how? I gave mine a good scrub, to no avail bit I still get the sensor fail when cold, indeed sometimes I get the sensor fail but they work anyway!

1) Yes.
Have a trusted assistant start car, place foot firmly on brake and engage reverse (without removing foot!)
Place finger on each sensor in turn. One (probably) not be ticking away)

2) Yes but can't recall the what it's shared with..... (Well purchase. I think some methods of replacement need bumper off)

Common on many cars. Had same on Mrs Audi. I found the faulty one and replaced and no further issues.
