Our Alpine Adventure 2023

The drive up to Passo di Giau is an amazing experience - especially in winter, when for the last couple of miles to the top of the pass, the road zig-zags across a vast snow field.

Often the snow will several feet above road level and you're left peering at the mountain views through the tops of the car windows.

One winter, around 2015, they had had massive falls earlier in the season. When we got to the top of the pass, the snow surrounding the car park was around 5 metres high. Entry to the restaurant (on the opposite side of the road) was via a tunnel/archway cut through the snow, leading to the front door.

Overall, it was a pretty surreal experience, sitting on the terrace of the restaurant (open completely as normal) looking at the view of the Marmolada glacier in the afternoon sunshine.

WoW sounds amazing, but think Roary would rather stick to spring and late summer trips.........:cool:
 
This was the start of yet another busy day in the Swiss Mountains heading towards Andermatt for much needed fuel...

Hello, hope everyone's well and looking forward to some run outs.
We went up to this years Maserati Club Northern Lights function in Morecambe and spent some time playing in the Lake District and
Yorkshire Dales. We had decided not to take Roary, as the weather forecast wasn't brilliant, so we went up in another fun chariot.
Managed to get a couple of videos made. Enjoy.

Just published on YouTube the latest video, Gotthard Pass and also a little short showing our wrong
turn which took us on to the old road!!!!!!. Maybe for another time, another car probably not Roary.....RoaryRati thinks he's too delicate.

Wrynose Pass in the Lake District in February, beautiful views and colours, maybe safer to walk. Enjoy.

Good afternoon everyone. We're currently surffering :cool: the Verdon Gorge France with beautiful weather for the first time in 6 days.
So managed a little run out which will be available one day!. But I have published on YouTube one of our efforts at Susten Pass from last year, hope you enjoy.

Hello to all. Our trip to the French Alps-
RoaryRati described as "The Tour of Terror", partly due to the problems already posted!!!..
This road is one for the brave but should still jump onto anyone Must Do's, if only to think "Oh is that it!"

Good afternoon and hope everyone is well. RoaryRati decided that with all the discussions around
a Forum trip to Spain/Portugal in 2025 that it would be a good idea for us to complete what had been planned a
couple of years ago. So we set off mid Sept for a 3 week tour and exploration. Very sure lots of
you have toured around Northern Spain as well, hopefully our videos will stir some ideas for route and
destinations!. Generally we found the roads to be good - excellent quality with light traffic. This road was almost devoid of other vehicles when we found it and was a delight.
Have a look see what you think.

And we had to do it four times as we were staying in the village - Roary always objected to leaving as he would always stall at the bottom - hopefully that issue is sorted now
 
Good Morning all, on this Wet Windy day!.
This was a little run out to view a lighthouse on the Northern Coast of Spain from our last tour.
Perhaps the view with the Blue sky might help cheer everyone up.
Looking forward to meeting up with old friends later...
