ONWARDS & UPWARDS - THE POSITIVITY & HAPPINESS THREAD

I am not sure if we have a thread like this already but I thought I would kick one off if not. Many have had a terrible year and I fear that 2021 won't be much better just a different set of issues to deal with.

So I thought we should use this thread to come together more and try to lift some spirits. Maybe adding some positivity and laughter to the world. Laughter and happiness is a great thing but something I don't easily or naturally embrace. It is a great healer IMHO with stress/negativity doing the complete opposite.

So the remit is to have some positive thoughts, some laughter, some uplifting tales in a bid to bring us together to raise spirits a little.

I start with the venerable Cannon & Ball. Of course partly in memory to Bobby Ball who passed away this year from Covid so I felt a fitting kick off whistle.

Funnily enough, I’ve never sung that one.

But I do remember being told off by my mother for singing (to the tune of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) “shiy, shiy bum bum, shiy shiy bum bum, shiy shiy bum bum we love you”. I was disappointed to learn that 4 year old girls were not meant to sing what I thought was a hilariously witty song.
