OBD II Diagnostic Code Reader ~ any recommendations for iOS app (07 Gransport)

Hi, I have seen links to this Streetwize device a couple of times on the forum. I have had a P0421 code (Catalyst 1 Efficiency below threshold Bank 1) read & cleared by a friendly local garage on my 07 Gransport. More research on the forum suggests it may/will come back on in the next 5 ~ 200 miles (?). So to be armed and ready, I have bought this little device to read/clear trouble code. But there appears to be a plethora of apps on the Apple App Store. Has anyone got a recommendation for one that works well on the Gransport please ?? Thanks. Seasons Greetings to all …

Dash Command is one IOS app that I got working on the fickle 3200 might be worth a look.

not that I am aware of. A lot of them claim compatibility but it generally comes down to just supporting the usual standard codes. The most important thing is being able to clear errors, at least for a 3200 it is, because it generates a lot of Italian errors that are just for the heat of the moment and disappear again afterwards (usually when you are in a hurry). There are a couple of systems mentioned in other threads on here but they tend to get quite expensive as soon as they work beyond the standard error codes.

Torque was the one I used to use.

Thank you gents … as feared, the dreaded amber engine warning light reappeared after perhaps 200 miles . Having reviewed both your suggestions, I confess to trying a third …. Car Scanner ELM OBD2. Seemed to have (a lot of) good reviews and was recently updated. The good news is that it showed the same code P0421 and cleared successfully. The bad news is I guess I may have a problem ?? I have recorded the exact mileage this time. The app is free to use so far but may get plagued with adverts and stuff after several uses (it isn’t exactly clear in the blurb) … but only £5.99 to purchase as a one off fee. As an aside, is it safe (indeed wise) to leave the plug permanently attached to the OBD2 for future use (making sure my phone doesn’t connect to its Wi-Fi automatically each time I get in) ?? Cheers for now

I have run my car with the ODBII reader plugged in and it didn't seem to bother the car much. I think what to remember is that the speed of the connection is very slow compared to modern cars. So the responsiveness of the ODB connection while you are driving is fairly underwhelming. The car is designed to work without this causing issues I suspect.
