Sorry chaps, but that is the air filter housing, looks like a mk1 or mk11 or maybe X120/150 Jaguar.

I assume you all thought it was the exhaust !

Thats why i posted it , assumed that he'd tried to marry up a silencer as and airfilter , are saying that is the airfilterand it is a mark 1 jag

I can see it now you point it out yes Andy... I don't remember them being like that though; it is a Daimler isn't it?

Yes if you look carefully on the l/h side you can see the tops of the SU carbs, on the r/h side is the very neat chrome or vitreous finished exhaust manifold and yes Loz i think it's a MK1 jag as per Inspector Morse.

It is a Jag but that looks more like an exhaust silencer than what I remember of the original air box. IIRC the old Jensen Healey had something similar.
