Gary that's correct, if you can still see your display like the photo above it's not that fuse. The radio screen would be black, and you would just see the functions around it like a/c etc.
Hi guys and thanks once again for the replies
I have to confess – due to my idiotic abilities with such things – I personally didn't fit them. I glossed over that bit in the intro to keep things simple and a friend did it for me and I've literally just spoken to him and he said they were wired up, screwed in and working fine when he put the door cards back.
That would infer to me that there has been some sort of issue with compressed/shorted wire upon replacing said door cards?

OK folks problem solved......
I had 5 spare minutes tonight so thought I'd start to get to the bottom of it with my limited talent and knowledge so prised off the grill of the driver's door speaker and started to undo the screws holding the speaker in place.....as I did so all speakers burst into life so I gently re-tightened and all is good in the world once more!! Clearly a pinched wire or the like. I love simple fixes!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks once again for all your kind advice and assistance - as ever greatly appreciated!
Cheers
