Nit UPDATE

Thanks David, that would be great. The only reason I wanted to update my NIT was that I thought it was required in order to run the new discs. I tried to run the new discs but the UK and a couple of the others wouldn't work so I assumed it had to be done. Everything is with Dicky Grace now, everything went with the car (except the keyring I bought in Modena!)

Lewis, its just a disc that updates the firmware of the NIT hardware. I am sure it was in that mega pack of discs you had, but I could have been mistaken.

Having just bought a '02 4200 CC with the original '02 nav disc, is it worthwhile obtaining a newer sat nav disc, and also updating the firmware?
...how easy are the discs to, er, ... obtain?

How do you make the update? The only think i have is a set of 10 discs for the gps, coming from 2007.They were bought by the previous owner.

There is an up date disc, you load it similar to how you would re-frest an old PC with floppy discs.

Up date disc in, ignition on...system does the rest.

Sorry to drag this up again, my sat nav is fussy when entering an address, sometimes the option is greyed out, sometimes it's okay...
I've checked the SW version of the info centre using the secret menu access procedure and it's number 24, is this the latest firmware version?

Thanks Lee, but I'm trying to establish whether I have the latest firmware version for the NIT hardware, not the latest mapping CD disc.
It's handy to know you can buy the latest mapping CD disc for reasonable money though!
