That is a great deal Loz, the tyres alone are worth it, you not tempted then?

Got nothing that size to put them on matt, just had the 4200 wheels refurbed in black with metal flake and it already had new tyres on which have only done 200 miles in nearly a whole year

good to see someone on here has got the bargain

regards loz

sold for a grand but i am not sure that i would run the alloys anyway.
I looked into this last week and those so called "£1000 alloys" cost £470 the set orderered from the manufacturer si the question is...would you "run" very very cheap alloys that are no doubt untested at speed on a £80k 180mph car?
I decide the answer was no so that made the tyres expensive at £1000 for the 4.alloys are useless and ultimatly unsalable.
What deformation are cheap alloys likely to undergo when exposed to extreme torque?

Are you saying Adam that DL are telling porkies about the original purchase price of the alloys , they quote them as costing a £1000 alone , i checked out team dynamics about 2 years ago and none of their ranges quoted a Maserati fitment , couldn't even get a special price at the time for a one off set , providing they are looked after and kept pothole free i see no reason why they shouldn't be okay , the twelve spokes are similar to the 3200 rims and should provide ample strength under normal conditions, even ferrari have their problems occasionally

Wasnt DL selling the tyres and alloys it was a private individual and yes they were telling porkys (the private seller that is) as i said i called the manufacturer and they cost £469 for the set of 4.
and i would be a tad reluctant to run anything that cost less than £100 to make on any fast car and i doubt i am alone there but may well be.
I also cant see the point in going after market and getting the same size as the stock ones....to save weight? why? i very much doubt you would notice it .
Its all about the way that the metal is cast and there are many different methods but porosity can occur if the cast is cooled too fast as this breaks the dendric formations, also Hydrogen Porosity,Two types or forms of hydrogen porosity may occur in cast aluminum. inter-dendritic porosity, which is encountered when hydrogen contents are sufficiently high that hydrogen rejected at the solidification front results in solution pressures above atmospheric. Secondary (micron-size) porosity occurs when dissolved hydrogen contents are low, and void formation is characteristically subcritical.
