I agree. List price doesn’t really matter, it’s what they sell for. As long as you’re not at the front of the queue, by 2023/24 I reckon a speccy new one will be £150k and a good one year old one about £135k.
So apparently £130k for a Modena and circa £150k for a Trofeo. GT Trofeo should be well specced similar to Grecale Trofeo so no need to go mad with options......If they are at these prices I think they should do well. Pricing and spec won't be confirmed until Q1 2023.

An ‘in the wild pic’.

strangest car launch in history this one. Without being disrespectful feels like the queens passing.

here’s a shed load of pic and we’re driving examples around all over the place no hiding. But the actual coronation will be sometime 6 months from now.

I’m wondering if there is something more going on with the interior/dash or it’s not actually finished. They’ve not shown it and it’s always covered.

They did also pick the week where the 911GT3RS is given to journos and the Corvette Z06 which probably stole all the front covers in the States.

Given the fanfare that went on with the MC20 release and I think it’s fair to say there’s just as much interest from the motoring world in the new GT, just strange how they’ve done this drip feed thing.

Not sure if I’m imagining it but did I see a pic somewhere that showed a fairly large internal screen much like the MC20’s?
I actually hate it. Those ‘bolt on’ Tesla style screens do nothing for me. They look like someone bought a CD player mount for their iPad and whacked it in. At least incorporate them into the dash if that’s the way you want to go.

I love the MC20 but hate that screen set up it has.

The photo was from someone on here when they went to the factory. World Scoop!!!

I think there’s loads of interest but when your biggest market is the States it was a daft week to pick!

Actually I think it's a great idea to develop the car in public. Stirs up a lot of interest, positive and negative feedback is given, designed by the whole world.

Registered my interest and was told 150k min is the target price for the cooking version plus options which are expected to be 20-30k given the number of assumed carbon options and 200k plus for the smoking version. But like always with Maserati they will give the press the least powerful first like they did with the GT and the Ghibli. But like the GT and GS the smoking version will become the sought after used one and lose least but knowing what's in the wind for 2030 and the drive for everyone to move away from ICE this could be the last throw of the dice so smoking version for me. Lava Grey with mid brown leather and Alcantara ooooooohhhhh.

They are only filling in the price gap left by Ferrari as the Portofino (ending soon) is at least 240k inc options and so is the Roma and the new Purosagne will be 400K with options.
The F8 and the 296 are 300K plus and the SF90 is a Kings Ransom so Maserati have decided not to be shy.

At 200k plus options for the faster ICE engined GT, Maserati are pitching it too high (IMHO).

Oh well, they may know how to make good cars, but their pricing is all over the place as usual.
At least that will mean that those buying second hand will feel like they're getting a bargain.

Wonder how much, if any, is up to Mas v. a Stellantis thing. I remember when the whole Daimler/Chrysler unholy marriage happened, and the running joke in Detroit was, "We (at Chrysler) are gonna teach MB how to bring a car from concept to showroom floor in under two years. In exchange, they are gonna teach us how to build cars!"

The MC 20 runs Fiat infotainment and it seems the Nettuno is a variation of the Alfa QF V6, albeit with some head work and pre chamber combustion tech….although Maserati say any similarities in bore, stroke and V angle are purely coincidental. Much like Ferrari did.

I like the shared parts as most will have been proven elsewhere and hopefully more reliable as a result. Does anyone know what platform it is being built on? It is a modified Giorgio?

I was chatting to a Stellantis PR recently and he let it slip that Maserati is treated as a separate business unit to the rest of the Stellantis brands. They have their own PR setup too.
Read into that what you will...

...so less likely that there's a common platform/architecture under the skin? May also explain why the interior is lagging, if they aren't pulling any gawdawful iPad parts off the shelf...
