Hi - not long had 43.5K service. used ot have the dreaded Spigot bearing squeal but seems clutch was adjusted at service to reduce this. clutch approximately 69% worn but we all know how unreliable the readings can be.
Drove her last sat and noticed the car had difficulty dropping from 3rd to 2nd gear. I can hear her clunking/attempting to drop in to 2nd gear but it just wouldn't engage. indicator remained flashing in 3rd. pulled over, turned off the car and switched battery off/on then flipped paddles and hey presto it dropped in to neutral. started the car, selected 1st gear and i was away. got home ok but noticed every time i stopped in traffic it wouldn't change down in to first automatically. i would have to pull left paddle to get first. was one more instance where she struggled to automatically drop from 3rd to "nd but quick flicking of the paddles averted gears being stuck.
so......does this sound to you like the clutch is on it's way out? There was no warnig/indicator lights on panel. already had F1 pump replaced with new relay.
these things always seem to happen when you need it least. getting married in 7 weeks and the Fiance has already told me no way can i spend the £2k for a clutch......she has a point I suppose
