New 4200 - and bang!

Hello all

I finally realised my ambition to own a Maserati (had to get the divorce out of the way first!) by getting hold of a beautiful, low mileage 4200. What complete and utter fun - trips up and down from Sussex to Devon just to get the feel and it's all good. But then the other night someone helpfully leaves a breeze block out on the road in Surrey on a wet night and bang. Literally! Two bent wheels plus two shredded tyres. Now I'm making the painful discovery of just how hard it is to get parts. So if anyone knows of front and rear wheel rims available I'd love to hear - and then I'll be back!

They're 7 spoke grey - and I've emailed David. Thanks for the suggestion though. Also onto Eurospares, and looking at a full set in Ireland on eBay!

Welcome to the forum and commiserations on the incident.
There's a guy called Steve Strange on ebay (pretty sure it's not the former Visage front man). He breaks Maseratis, as does Douglas Valley breakers.

Good luck with the search.

Thanks for the suggestion - I think I'm closing in on some wheels now which would be a good end to the week!

ooooh, that is nasty!

You should not have too much problem tracking down wheels, there are plenty about.

Any bodywork damage?

Where about are you in West Sussex?....feel free to pop in to SportsMaserati World Headquarters in Chichester if your in the area, PM me beforehand, always up for a coffee, chat and advise.

Many thanks to all for the welcome, the commiserations and the suggestions. The good news is that I've found a full set of wheels and they're on their way now from Greg Smith in Ireland, so with a bit of luck I'll be back on the road by Wednesday. More good news is that the bodywork seems to have survived and so did I - apart from the trouser incident when the bang came out of the blue! It's a shame they're not the nice seven spoke wheels I started with but at least they're round, which is more than can be said for two of mine. It also means that I have two spare seven spoke wheels which are a bit like hen's teeth - the nearest front wheel I could find was in Switzerland! If anyone happens to find a stray breeze block you might be hunting for them.

I'm in Burgess Hill, but if I'm in Chichester I'll certainly pop into the World Headquarters - thanks for the invite!

OOOOH! That would have brought tears to my eyes if that was me. Was it an insurance job in the end?
