Newly purchased 05 coupe and new to Sarasota/Venice Fl area.Anyone know a good mechanic in sw florida? A/c fan stuck on low
I tried pressing both buttons, all I got was aa. Will try again tmroIf its an aircon fault then any decent aircon specialist will be able to fault find on it however before you go down that route there is an aircon reset procedure which also runs a diagnostic. This will check the system for you and if it finds a fault it will show a four digit alfa numeric code on the lcd that shows which gear you are in. The very bottom line that show the outside temperature will display the code.
Reset procedure is here
At the point when you push and hold the eco and recirc buttons is when the codes will display. You may get more than one code.
Post your codes up when you have them and i will find my code list.

Thank you! Code was AA00, must be the fan switch or maybe regulator?Fan switch clicks when you turn it, but does not change speed. It does blow cold airYour probably seeing AA00 which is no fault.

Turning temp up & down does not affect fan speed in auto mode. Fan speed does not changeMy guess would be fan switch.
Although having said that, what happens if you turn the temperature up and down. The fan speed should alter if you're in auto mode

No, no matter what setting, fan speed stays on lowIf you knock it off auto and manually increase the fan speed and put it on screen demist or upper vents is the fan speeding up ?

Zeps the resident air con specialist. However from what your describing the aircon does work but only on low speed.
Which leads me to think that it could be a relay fault or the fan switch.
Assuming its the same as alfa systems which i have trouble shooted before there are two relays. 1 for the low speed fan and one for the high speed.
Low speed seems to be working so if you make a short jump wire with a spade end connector on each end. Pull the relay for high speed fan 2 and then bridge the connection on the relay socket. If the high speed fan then comes on its the relay. If it doesnt it points to either the fan switch or another issue.
There are also low and high pressure sensors. If the aircon is definately chilling then the low pressure sensor is working.
In theory from my understanding the high pressure switch could cut in and restrict the system from blowing full speed.
@Zep can you debunk or confirm the last point.

Surely the fan has more than one speed setting? To me it sounds like whatever controls the speed is punk (which is not to say you're wrong, just that I can't see how two relays can provide >3 speeds.
We are, I assume, talking about the interior blower, not the fan in the engine bay.....

I haven't got a manual, but just to be really really clear:
Are we talking about item 7?
