Need help with F1 Transmission fault codes

So to start off I purchased a 2009 GranTurismo S with F1 transmission that was from a Copart auction. When I got the car I scanned for codes and the main code was no communication to the gearbox computer. Turns out the TCM was missing from the trunk (it was either removed to hide a bigger problem or it was stolen during its time at Copart). The car was stuck in gear and will not start. Thanks to a generous member on here, I was able to borrow their TCM from a 2005 Quattroporte. I know this is not the correct computer however several other members have tried with some success on using this computer on their GranTurismo. They were able to start and shift gears with this same computer although reverse and the shift points were off.

I plugged the TCM in and had a fully charged battery. The good news is upon opening the driver door I was able to hear the F1 pump prime. I put the key in and plugged in my Autel MS908 Pro to read and delete any previous codes. While doing this, I could hear the F1 pump running the entire time. It would not shut off. Turning the key to start did nothing and in the pictures below are the remaining codes for the transmission.
Does anyone know where the Longitudinal Accelerometer is located? I’ve seen a thread about a Vertical Accelerometer located in the trunk but nothing about the Longitudinal sensor. Also the second code regarding the pump relay… I assume this is the infamous f1 pump relay that I hear people replace yearly as a preventative measure? I’m assuming this is why the F1 pump will not shut off shut off when the key is on? Does that make sense?

The good news is that with the Quattroporte TCM, the car was able to get out of Drive and back into neutral.

Any help here would be appreciated.IMG_1232.jpegIMG_1231.jpeg

You will need the correct ECU for your vehicle, the basics are the same across the F1 ECU’s but the Granturismo S / MC shift system is a different beast.

The longitudinal sensor for the F1 is separate from any acceleration sensors used for skyhook suspension. The longitudinal sensor was only fitted to certain F1 systems and later dropped by using data from the ABS ECU.

With the incorrect ECU fitted you could be chasing your tail based on the fault codes.

Thank you however I’m looking for the longitudinal accelerometer sensor. I believe it is different than the vertical accelerometer.

I believe it’s this however I’m not sure where it’s located in the car.
Yes, it is different and located in centre console mid vehicle if installed? Unlikely on your vehicle?

Since I have a first year 2009 GranTurismo with the F1 transmission, could it be that I have it in my car? I know you mentioned that they dropped it in later years.

And yes I am still searching for an actual TCM for my specific m145 GranTurismo however finding one is rather difficult. My local Maserati dealer said the cost is $4400 however they can’t tell when they could get one as they don’t have any in the US or Italy. Scuderia Parts said they can order it however it would take 4 weeks. I borrowed the Quattroporte TCM only to get it out of gear and hoped it would at the very least start the car. I’m hoping you’re right that the error codes are due to an incorrect TCM.

Longitudinal sensor part 206071 made by Bosch if fitted - unlikely on yours but used on 2005 - 2006 QTP.
Mid vehicle.

The Vertical acceleration sensor part 232082 made by Sachs.
Would only show on Skyhook Suspension fault diagnostics.
Rear Left boot.

As Steve says, Looks like you're getting that particular code as the TCU is looking for a sensor that your car doesn't and shouldn't have.

Same could posibly be said for the pump running continuously it might be looking for different pressures etc.. But as you say, best place to start would be the relay I would think.
Although, you said your pump primed when you opened the door, did it switch off again?

Also, be carful you don't burn your pump out with it running for prolonged periods.

Im hoping that the reason for the codes is because of the wrong TCM. The main thing before I invest a few thousand dollars in a new and correct TCM is to get the car started which should still happen even with the wrong tcm.

The pump primes when I open the driver door for about 4-5 seconds and then it shuts off. When I put the key in the ignition and turn the car on, the f1 pump is on constantly and does not turn off until I turn the key off. Does it still sound like a bad relay?

Also where would I find the starter relay? Is it in the passenger right side of the engine compartment? I would check but the car is home while i am at work. The car did not have the owners manual and I cannot find too many diagrams specific to the GranTurismo. All I find are for the Quattroporte. I was told I would be able to jump the starter relay and start (or at the very least crank) the engine that way to bypass the TCM.

I would attempt to get 'hold of Aldous Voice, of AV Engineering, in the UK. I'd bet he could take a CFC301F.62 or .64 and turn it into a .63 (which I think fits your GTS F1).

I wouldn't be surprised if he could imbue it with "Challenge Stradale" goodness, too.

Sounds like sound advice to me

The GTS is .00 not 62,63 or 64. Theoretically it’s possible to flash it with the GTS software… But it’s a bit more complicated…
