MSP fault causes write off

I met another Maserati driver in my fair city yesterday who explained his previous 2008 GranTourismo recently came to grief in a heavy downpour.
The MSP and other electric driver aids died. The resulting crash threw him from one gutter to the next and took out his suspension both sides, deployed airbags but no panel damage.
The $110,000 repair bill caused the insurers to write it off.
He now has a silver 2011 GTS

so you're saying the MSP *caused* the crash? or he was just unable to drive a car without the nannies?
