I disagree,

There's a silver GTS with 40k miles on desperate seller going for 25k. The YouTuber Jay Emm paid around 25/26k for his last year. So you can get a GTS for that money.
Why don’t you buy the silver one, if it’s in fine order it’s a good price?
I think Jayemm actually did a video on that actual silver one too before he bought his.

Jay Emm’s was that sort of money as it was a >60k miles car. The Slades car seems to have been passed around auction sites and dealers for a few years, but £25k is suspiciously cheap, hence PPI required. Inspected and prepped 2010 GTS’s tend to sell around £32-35k with sub 45k miles. Earlier cars aren’t as sought after due to the variator range, but should still reach late £20k’s. Two cars have been for sale at far too much, one still is at £42750, one is no longer on sale. I’m not here to talk anyone’s car up or down, but in my opinion, good ones don’t appear sub £30k, and to be worth >£40k they have to be exceptional. Most I’ve sold one for in recent years was this dream spec one owner car:

A good one.

What constitutes a good one? It's such a subjective thing.

Even the most brilliant, well looked after car can develop a major fault. It's a machine, things will go wrong, it's inevitable so I don't buy into that nonsense.
Inevitable/Nonsense is a bit extreme for a fairly reasonable stance.

A good one, I’d suggest, is one with the following:
A clean report from a recognised independent or MD.
Good spec and colour combo
Sensible mileage
Good history at proper indies/MD
Bright high quality paintwork
Immaculate interior
Recent tyres, brakes, suspension work
Sensible no. of owners

Yes, something catastrophic can always go wrong with any car, but if you approach car ownership in that way, you’d never buy anything. Buying a clean, inspected, cherished example is far more likely to result in a positive ownership experience than buying ‘a cheap one’ and then chasing your tail the whole way through your ownership as it’s been skimped on by previous owners.
Finally, the reason it is incredibly hard to find a good >2010 ‘S’ model is that there were few of them. This was because the Sport GTS appeared in 2009 and buyers bought these in the main. Also, the good ones that were out there around say, 5 years of age in 2014, are now 14 years old. As the values haven’t been above £20k for the last 10 years, many owners have been reluctant to spend significant amounts of money on maintenance, easy to spend £5k (25% of the car’s value) on a service, brakes and tyres, so very few good ones exist in the U.K. I’d suggest probably less than 20 examples out there that would be worth buying, whereas I’d think there’s around 35 Sport GTS’s worth owning. When the car has a higher value, and is the pinnacle of the model range, they tend to be owned by people who are prepared to spend on whatever is required to keep it tip top.

This is extremely insightful expertise.

The GTS models in my opinion have become overrated because the S models are just as good and go for a lot less.
This is oxymoronic; but if the 4.7 S is just as good, don’t even consider buying a Sport GTS, complete waste of money ;)

An ‘S’ is good, and great value, but it isn’t as good as a Sport GTS. The main differences being the ride quality (Bilstein dampers), exhaust note, handling and gear change. It also looks better, is lower and the grille is prettier, as is its rear end with the oval pipes.

There is an S on AT for 20k with yes higher miles but it’s been through Sports Italia by the looks of things and sounds very much a sorted car. In fact I think Matt said on here that it was the perfect example with all the work they have done to it. History and condition is so important with these cars over miles.

But as Dicky has said the GTS is a cut above the rest and that is why they cost a lot more. Interesting on the silver one it looks in better condition than it did when that auction site sold it and it does seem to have been serviced every two years

The other great thing about having an 'S' is that people write, "Do you an S?" and I can reply "Yes, I do."
Whereas if I had the upgrade, then people would write "Do you have a GTS?", and I would have to reply, "No, I have a GT S".
Which I know I would find very tiresome. As would they.

This one has been for sale for over a year now, maybe longer:
That’s the one I was referring to when I said one that had been on sale and was no longer. I didn’t realise it was still for sale. Too much for the miles, condition and history as it has been for sale for over 12 months.

They also are selling as seen Dicky rather than warranty stock. That would concern me if they didn’t seem fit to add to their stock and warranty when they say how good it is. Low miles at 19k though.

Yes, it certainly doesn’t send out the right message does it! Lovely low miles, I’ve not viewed it but I know people who have done and walked away.

I viewed it.

Paintwork was poor and weirdly dull. There were random rattles from the interior as well as signs it had been kicked about in places.

The people selling were nice people and clearly had the money to maintain a car like this to a high standard.

I made an offer of what I thought it was worth and it was rejected so I walked away.

At the same time as I was viewing this, the one in Northern Ireland was sold to a forum member for around £27k I believe. That seemed like a good buy.

It's now moved back. Pleased to say i now have the QP GTS back, unfortunately the dealer ceased trading a couple of weeks ago so all SOB cars were returned to their owners

The drive home was great, amazing how much you miss it when you don't have it around, you try and convince yourself its just another car.....reminds you of how special these are.

Great news, you won't regret it! I stopped using mine during the salted roads period (despite the full SportsItalia subframe treatment last year) and got it out for a drive last weekend to Somerset. It is easy to forget how good these cars are. Just washed, polished and waxed mine ready for the season!

Yours looks a beautiful car as well Guy, gave mine the full clean up today then just stood back and admired.

Found this review, think he sums up our cars brilliantly,
