I had the pleasure of meeting Sig Balboni a few years ago,I had a hooligan drive around town with him in an old Lamborghini Miura!

I've been known to have the odd hooligan drive with Balboni myself....

Missed the programme - I would have liked to see it.
Working in London - just off New Bond St, I am a little fed up with expensive toys and kn0bhead drivers treating the roads as their personal race track (I like the exhaust notes and try to avoid loking like I am looking!!) Summer always brings female acroutements - very pleasing trying to get out of some race car 1" off the ground with 6" stillettos and a skirt that gives a preview of tomorrows washing at the best of times.

Still the collection of petrol head exoctica is a glorious site - just how much does it cost to fly your car into the UK for a fortnight?

When I win the lottery I will promise not to behave like they do - if I forget then too bad!!!!

The program was a bit gash, IMO.

People deal with that in every town in the UK, its just not often Lamborghini's and Ferrari's.

I do think the people speeding need to get pulled up - its a residential and very heavily populated area - and those sat just revving need doing for being antisocial. However, the residents seemed pretty clueless. "have you spoken to any of the drivers?" "err.............no".

Completely agree with you Woody.

Exchange Knightsbridge for somewhere else, and instead of Lambos and Ferrari's you get Vauxhall Novas with a huge exhaust that sound like they are doing 500mph at 10mph in 1st gear, driving around in circles trying to impress who knows what.

I guess it goes with the territory, the reason house prices have risen/so high in these areas is partly due to the influx of very well off Arabs.

You didn't hear many of the residents complaining about this did you. Those foreigners are the reason the current residents can afford a mansion in the countryside when it comes to the sale of their flat.

I think the difference here though, which I dont think came across all that well, was that some of the tourists that bring their cars are able to avoid having to abide by the laws, mainly due to illegible plates. Apparently, they've tried to change this, but until you get that level of accountability (and threatening fines simply wont work), these boys and their toys will carry on doing what they like.

Someone WILL get killed though if they are left to do 60, 70, 80+ mph in those narrow, densly populated streets.

I thought the irony of the cop on a pushbike was brilliant, as was the comment on the QP which according to 'indignant of Knightsbridge' is a ridiculous car for London (cue RR Phantoms which are de rigeur for that area - although they do have hush valves so that's presumably ok).

There is no excuse for dangerous driving, and I did feel for the lady who lives in a basement as she only ever sees the undersides of the cars, though it strikes me that the residents' committee represents only 3 or 4 households and the hilarious guy who 'nearly lost an eye' to an umbrella takes some beating ("DID YOU SEE THAT?").

There is something wrong, though, insofar as we have 20 - somethings riding around in £200k motors; it is so not fair...............

I don't see any serious side at all to said programme.....................it was a HELLO magazine type production.

I don't think there was any balance, we must remember they film hours of the stuff and just put on just 50 mins......was that the best they could do, who knows they didn't/did put the same group of 6/7 guys up to it, then wheel out the "lobby" group.....................the person who commissioned it, make it and oked its showing should be deported..................................thats what I call balanced!!!!

Methinks the production team had their tongues firmly planted in their cheeks (facial of course).

Watched this show and couldn't help thinking all the way through that neither side would have complained if this was the car giving it some - so what's the real issue?:

Not at all Miles....they want to show off their wealth and don't have to ask the price of anything status.............................mere showmanship....houses, cars and going to the most expensive places....exclusive and for rich foreigners only.....;)

P

I think its also to keep the chavs out. Quite a few places in Manchester like to think they are the haunts of footballers/the rich but the prices are just a bit above normal, hence 90% are chavs trying to act like they've made it. These places always seem to have knife/glass fights etc etc.
