I've done it a couple of times but not the whole route. I've picked it up on the way back gone into Tuscany and then up to Brescia for the finish. Last year it included Modena. It's a petrol head's feast.
Two year's ago I stayed at a small hotel where some of the competitors were staying - it's odd parking your hired Alfa next to Bugatti's and Bentley's. You wouldn't like it - fine cars, sunshine, good food and wine and lots of pretty girls.
The start in Brescia is something I'd like to see and I'd like to do the whole route but it's difficult to get an entry ....

Did the route last year. got to Brescia 2 days before, great atmosphere and fantastic cars but rained like ****. they have not seen rain like it, so they said.

Followed on to the Futa Pass and hit a pothole where the rain had washed out some recent repairs. It was a foot deep and 2 foot across covering half the width of the road. As it was pouring with rain it just looked like a puddle. Hit it at 90. Drove all the way back to England feeling like a washing maching on spin with an uneven load. Spoilt the trip but did enjoy the first bit.

Well worth the effort.

On a mountain pass, in a monsoon, doing 90. What could possibly go wrong!? Glad you survived to tell the tale. What car were you in?
