Went for a spin yesterday early evening, to stick more bugs to the front of the car after cleaning them off in the morning, and passed a chap in a 355 GTS.

As he was well over 50 and driving a resale red Ferrari with the roof off, presumably he triggered the c***ometer? Where as I in a classic blue Maserati was effortlessly cool? Or something similar............

I’ve bonded with it, I like it. It’s a 20v 5cyl TD and pulls well. I was put off the 20v after AndyK sold me one, but I’ve forgiven him :p

Almost bought a Brera coupe new at launch. Hated the Diesel engine and salesman who promised me the V6. That lead me directly to the 3200GT I still have so fond memories. Would have a Brera Spyder now though, must be less than a QP service to buy :)

Brera was too heavy, sh1t engines, sh1t build quality...I know I had a lemon in mpg he diesel I had but even if it wasn't you could still see its many short falls. Best was the Pro Drive V6 but then with 19 miles per gallon get a Maserati....Alfas biggest missed opportunity...Along with the 4C....

Mines still going strong, on 140k now, 3.2 V6 Q4 I love it. Mileage not a consideration. I will just run it into the ground. After GTVs build quality is far superior.

Agree, my old V6 GTV was better build and better to drive. I think things went down hill in qulity in the Brera days. My friend had a159 and gave it back...It was not big issues but loads of little ones that he just lost confidence with the car and the brand.
