No info at all Loz, but surely parts would be a problem going forward given very limited run and demise of MG??

This particular one is the SV R version 575 bhp plus it has the nos set up

found this on wicky http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MG_XPower_SV

Fast bit of kit by all accounts was hoping to chat to someone who is familiar with them it only needs a rear bumper and sideskirt and a little cosmetic work

As far as I'm aware Oakfields took a batch on direct from the factory http://www.oakfields.com/ a while back, I'm not sure if they actually completed the build ona couple, I've dealt with them a couple of times in the past, always been helpful and worth a call...

This particular one Phil is the SV R and has as standard NOS conversion producing 875bhp its the parts im worried about needs a rear bumper and a side skirt inside is very reminiscent of the Aston DB9 outside very Mustang ish but far better than those Rover 75 you pointed me towards now they are old mens cars shape wise anyway

Loz, surely you could take it to a fibre glass guy and he could build you one? There is one in Chichester called Jago, they make complete bodies.

There's not even an existing one to start a pattern off or side skirt i know Jago just off the A27 they used to do fibreglass jeeps and beach buggies years ago god knows what there up to now , David Howson is checking the parts for me through other channels

Yep, they do look like old mens' cars Loz, but if you'd seen the Dreadnought car drifting around Castle Combe you'd see the potential. Because they are regarded as such prices are down, for now at least.

Geoff Jago, now there's a name from the past!

Jago are still there, drive past them most days.

Someone must have the moulds, things like that just dont get chucked in the bin, someones always switched on enough to keep them. They may have even have been made under licence by someone.

There will be a club or forum around somewhere.

If you read the wiky thread they were assembled on an italian production line so unlikely there'll be much over here , only 90 made in total prices £75k -£100k

for me its a long shot but i have someone trying on my behalf

A friend of mine helped with the development work of these so could probably help if someone I know was to buy this. Also know someone else who was very senior at MG so it all depends on the reason for asking the question.......

Thanks for the reply and offer of help Robin, but i'm backing away from this one , even tho its got a reported 800 odd horse power, complete with supercharger and NOS conversion , its got a very chequered history ive discovered and NO chassis no stamped on the chassis but one is allotted to the car hence its 09 registration , seems the same car has been registered twice first time 07 and 2nd time 09 as prototype/development car , no longer has the entitlement to be badged as an MG SV RS so no real provenence ,
Must say had an interesting chat with Will Riley who produced them , very very interesting man and has a couple of classic massers to boot , still might venture down to Eardistone and meet the guy

Would still be interested to hear what connection if any your contact has with Will Riley or was it with the MG development side

Actually its the 3rd time , still not making its reserve price , the insurance companies paid out too much for it , its now recognized as having no MG provenance, Basically its a Will Riley Special who's he you may well ask , and has little or no credence in the scale of things and your just as likely to get held to ransom for any parts you need to repair it , he's the only one with any parts he a typical Claude Greengrass
