MC Grancabrio - anyone know this car

Seems odd that this has been owned by 5+ owners in 6 years and only 14,000 miles have been clocked up.

I couldn't own a car like this and not drive it.

I drive past it almost daily. No idea if they're open tomorrow but more than happy to pop over

<edit> That's a lie about daily. I drive past it when I have to go and work in London. Anyway it's about 3 miles away

That's a great angle to take a photo of a Gran Cab it looks so menancing. I can see lines of a Fiat Dino Spider the way the arches rise above the wheels

Yep - RG has just sold mine. The new chap is booked to collect it on Monday. It sold for just a bit below the asking of price of the one in this thread, but mine was a year older and had done a few more miles.

may I ask please, why did you move it on? There seems to be relatively few reviews/owners thoughts on the GranCabrio MCs so curious to see how you compare it to the other Maseratis you've owned over the years

It's a brilliant car, and on a sunny day with the roof down and the exhaust blaring, it's great fun. But I have too many cars as it is and wasn't likely to use it for at least the next 6 months, so decided I was better to move it on. Plus I bought an MC-Stradale late last spring.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time with it, especially a family surfing holiday trip down to Devon and Cornwall. (Though you need to pack light if there are 4 of you.)

Thank you for your thoughts. I personally am not a huge fan of the convertible derivative vs fixed head but it seems the GranCabrio MC's sound and therefore one's closeness to it sans roof makes all the difference. Given the GC MC was always an auto, I wonder if there are any differences in 'feel' to a pre vs post facelift car; will have to investigate

I was in market for GT and ended up with a GC (albeit a non MC version....Mrs Linescanner won argument) I have to admit to not being sad I lost. With the roof off in the sun, they are epic....yes, you lose a little rigidity, but the top down experience is something else.

Interesting, are you in a GC Sport then? I've been wary of Skyhook (after sampling it on the QP S and preferring the fixed rate setup in the Sport GT S) but maybe with the roof down and a more relaxed driving style the adaptive damping makes more sense? Did your wife find the MC too loud ???

Yes, it a 2013 GC Sport. Not in an MC as I could not quite stretch to one. It is a very comfy ride over long distances and is good when in sport and pushing it. Did a 1000 mile trip across Northern France earlier this year. Great on the motorway and awesome blatting through the twisty stuff. It really is for "wafting in style", I am well past the boy racer style of driving, but it can hustle when needed. As for the noise.....I can feel an X-pipe as part of winter work along with a few other bits (SM touch screen, braided hoses and some cosmetic stuff)

All in all, a very happy chappy.

Nice, I'm forever plotting another car to sit alongside my QP and the idea of having a 'set' very much appeals. Need to drive one now
Yeah, I like the idea of a "set". Had a new petrol Ghibli as a loaner for a week last month. Was pretty pleased with it. One to think about when my old XF finally gives up.
