Matte Paint

Just wandering is the "matte paint" the top end vehicles (Maserati's Lambo's etc) are having now adays paint or film, looked over a GTS a few months back and didn't look like film but wasn't sure. Any idea guys?

I'm sure they are wraps. Not a big fan, but... did see a Merc SL63 in matt bronze which glistened and sparkled a bit like real bronze. I quite liked it.

For the cost I'd expect it to be paint, pretty sure the new Matte finish on the 2013 R8 is paint not a wrap, so I think other manufacturers will be use the same.Far better buy a standard car and get it wrapped for half the cost, then it can be removed and sold with standard paint, I imagine matte wont be worth a penny come resale.

I heard you can get the new GT sport in matte blue as an optional extra but something like over £10k!!!!!! I guess a film wrap from a local firm be £1,200 ish?? (Not sure)

Maserati Matt paint is paint and cost a fortune....They do three colours..Grey, blue and white........For me never worth the extra cost..Its something like 15k for some of it.........

you must only change the colour on the logbook if it is a permanent change, wrap is not deemed as a permanent change because it can just be peeled off.

if you want matt i would deffinatly have it wrapped not sprayed, that way when you dont like it or it goes out of fashion again you can just remove it.

Is it supposed to be an RS500? They were wrapped black, but they were all gloss black underneath.

Yes, when he bumped it you could see the white paint clearly under the factory wrap
